Arden & GEM’s Business Intelligence service has been successfully shortlisted in two categories at this year’s Data IQ Awards.

Set up to spotlight and elevate individuals and teams working in data and analytics, the Data IQ Awards is now in its tenth year of operation. Over 391 submissions were received in 2022 which went through a competitive judging process, involving 26 industry experts, before arriving at the final shortlist.

Arden & GEM’s first shortlisting is in the ‘Best data and analytics team’ category in recognition of the insight delivered to support the NHS through its biggest ever challenge. As part of the NHS family, the team played an integral role in the COVID-19 response at a national, regional and local level. From building systems that capture real-time vaccination data to modelling disease impact which informs policy making, Arden & GEM supported both frontline care and recovery planning. The team has also focused on putting the structures, capabilities and tools in place to enable data-driven approaches to healthcare that increase understanding and enable better decision-making.

The service’s second shortlisting is in the ‘Best place to work in data’ category for embedding a culture of collaborative working and personal development. Arden & GEM continually strives to make the organisation ‘a great place to work’. As the organisation’s largest department, the Business Intelligence service has contributed to this ambition by embedding a culture of collaborative working and talent management with an emphasis on attracting and developing the next generation of leaders. The result is a highly productive and successful team that support each other to deliver high-quality, trusted and valued services for health and care clients.

Commenting on the shortlist announcement, Arden & GEM’s Chief Analytics Officer, Asma Nafees, said: “I am very proud that our team has been recognised by the data industry’s most prestigious awards. Over the past two years, the service has gone above and beyond to respond to the needs of our clients across the health and care system, alongside making continual improvements to our systems and skillsets that improve care planning and health outcomes”.

The winning projects will be announced during a presentation ceremony in London on Thursday 29 September 2022.
