NHS Arden & GEM has become just the third organisation in the UK to achieve ‘We invest in wellbeing’ Platinum accreditation following an assessment by Investors in People.
NHS Arden & GEM is the first NHS organisation and only the third organisation in the UK to achieve the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded by the prestigious and globally recognised Investors in People wellbeing scheme.
Paul Devoy, CEO of Investors in People, said: “We’d like to congratulate NHS Arden & GEM. Platinum accreditation on ‘We invest in wellbeing’ is a fantastic effort for any organisation, and places NHS Arden & GEM in fine company with a host of organisations that understand the value of wellbeing.”
The Investors in People assessment, which took place in May 2024, reviewed Arden & GEM’s health and wellbeing culture, programmes, initiatives and processes, as well as looking at how well these are embedded across the organisation.
The assessment included meetings with the leadership team, interviews with a sample of employees and an all staff survey. The survey results were a testament to the hard work and commitment demonstrated by those supporting health and wellbeing across the organisation, and found that:
- 91% of staff think the organisation offers learning and development activities that focus on health and wellbeing
- 87% of staff believe the organisation is committed to creating an environment supporting people’s health and wellbeing
- 85% of staff feel the organisation’s values promote the benefits of health and wellbeing.
Mike Walker, Director of Business Services at Arden & GEM said: “It is a fantastic achievement to have been accredited as a Platinum organisation and I would like to thank everyone involved in the assessment, including those staff who participated in the survey and interviews.
“We deliver a wide range of health and wellbeing initiatives as part of a holistic wellbeing strategy and I am delighted that the assessment showed that this was valued by and helpful to our colleagues. We will use the findings from the assessment to ensure we continue to adapt, enhance and further develop our health and wellbeing offer.”
Current health and wellbeing support for staff at Arden & GEM includes:
- an extensive range of wellbeing workshops
- a monthly health and wellbeing newsletter
- Yammer communities and staff network groups
- health and safety assessments
- Mental Health First Aiders and wellbeing champions
- an Occupational Health Service and Employee Assistance Programme.
The Platinum accreditation will be in place for three years with reviews taking place annually.
